Kiss is an American rock band formed in New York in January in 1973. It is well known for its members’ face paint and flamboyant stage outfit.
The group rose to prominence from the mid to late 1970s on the basis of their elaborate live perfomances, which featured fire breathing, blood spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets and pyrotechnics.
Kiss has been awarded twenty-eight gold albums to date,being the most awarded American rock band. The 1973-1980 original lineup of Paul Stanley (vocals and rhythm guitar), Gene Simons (vocals and bass guitar), Ace Frehley (lead guitar) and Peter Criss (drums) is the most successfull.
Each character is based from different comics, Starchild (Stanley), The Demon (Simmons), Spaceman (Frehley) and Catman (Criss).
