It is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles(California) whose releases include fast tempos, instrumentals, and aggresive musicianship that placed them as one of the founding “big four” of trash metal alongside Slayer, Megadeth and Antrax.
The band has had a lot of different members either for addictions, dead or other reasons.
Now, the members are James Hetfield, who is the singer, the guitar and the piano player, Kirk Hammet, who plays the lead guitar and chorus, Robert Trujillo, who plays the bass and also chorus, and Lars Ulrich, who plays the drums.
Metallica has released nine studio albums, three live albums, five extended plays, 24 music videos and 45 singles. The band has won nine Grammy Awards, and has had five consecutive albums debut at numbers one of the Billboard 200.
